YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT EVERYDAY
Therefore let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to temptation, being overconfident and self-righteous], take care that he does not fall [into sin and condemnation]. 1 Corinthians 10:12 AMP
Have you ever been played a game where you performed so well and built a very high confidence rate? Then just when you got really confident and thought you couldn't lose no matter what happens, things turned around? If that has happened to you, then you can relate with our theme verse.
Let the man who thinks he stands not get overly confident that he begins to disregard why he's standing. In the example of the game, the reason you lost after becoming so confident, wasn't because of the confidence . No. The confidence is actually an advantage.
But then, there's a difference between being confident, and being overly confident. As a Christian, is it possible to be overly confident? Yes. When you get confident at the expense of the one in whom your confidence should rest. In other words, when you become confident in yourself.
And that's what our theme verse talks about. In your Christian journey. Don't get confident in yourself. Don't ever think for once, that you can still be as victorious as you've been, even without the Holy Spirit. No. That's the beginning of failure. You need him everyday. Everyday. Never forget that.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I thank you for your mercy and love towards me. Thank you Lord for blessing me with your Spirit and your word. I know I cannot do without you. And I'm grateful because you are with me. Thank you dear Lord in Jesus name. Amen
