BE WILLING TO ADAPT
to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22
In our daily lives, we encounter many people from different backgrounds, different tribes with different ideologies and different characters.What makes one person laugh might be offensive to another person. What one person calls expensive might be really cheap to someone else.
What one person considers as beautiful might be ugly to someone else. So what works with one person might not work with another person.Therefore if our witnessing of Christ must be effective, then we must choose to be flexible and not rigid reaching out to all people.
So long as you don’t go outside of the word of God, choose to adapt to the one you are relating with, so that gospel you minister to them Will be most effective. There is no particular pattern of relating that is best, and no particular pattern of preaching is best. But what’s important is that Christ should be the model and the message.
If you meet a smiling brother, then you better get smiling too, and if you meet one who loves to be serious, then choose to be serious too (at least for a start), so you don’t lose the opportunity to win a soul or bless a life. Let Christ be the definition of everything you do, as you remain flexible in your medium of presenting Him to the world. You’re blessed. TCF.
