IN THE VOLUME OF THE BOOK
Hebrews 10:7
Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
In the volume of the book it is written of Me—
To do Your will, O God.’ ”
As recorded in the book of Hebrews in our theme verse (10:7), Jesus himself testified, that’s his total agenda, the will of God for bringing him to this world was captured and written in the Scriptures. He said, in the volume of the book, it is written of me, to do your will O God.
All Christ came to fulfill were things already captured either openly or by coding in the Scriptures. Now these things are only revealed by the Spirit. So it’s took Jesus depending on the Holy Spirit, and learning from Him through scriptures, to know the things about him or which he had come to do.
Now consider this, that if this is true about Jesus Christ our Lord and Master, that His life was captured in God‘s word on earth , how much more you? Remember your life is contained in His life. And if his life was fully described in the word, according to the will of God, then yours is described therein too. Your entire life is already planned out and described in the word of God.
But it takes the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you. Because He is the one that leads us into all truth. Therefore as we give attention to the word, we give ample opportunity to the Holy Spirit to show us the things concerning us as contained in the word. And of course, if we are attentive, we will catch them. Our whole purpose for life is contained in God’s word and is discovered by living by the Word and the Spirit. In the volume of the book, it is written of us, to do His will. Your purpose is in the word. You are blessed. TCF
