THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM
Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” (NASB)
One of the greatest promises Christ made to us before His death and resurrection is captured in our theme verse. He will give us the keys of the kingdom of heaven, such that whatever we bind (disallow) on earth would've been bound (disallowed) in heaven already, and whatever we loose (allow) on earth, would've been loosed (allowed) in heaven already.
This seems like access to the templates of heaven, and authority to make things on earth just as they are in heaven. This is so important because the devil is always trying to institute menace on earth here. Things which are not found in heaven at all, and the church has the responsibility to correct these things.
First in your life and world (your sphere of influence) and then the globe at large. We know that Christ is the fulfillment of all the promises. So obviously, when we came to Christ Jesus, we came to the fulfillment of the promise.
We can stop things and start things, using the template of how they already are in heaven, because we have the keys of the kingdom of heaven. But how much we can exercise this right depends on how much knowledge of the keys of the kingdom that we have. What exactly are the keys of the kingdom of heaven? What is it we received?
