GOD'S WORD AND YOUR LIFE
For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” Genesis 18:19 NKJV
Notice that our theme verse connotes that God was saying, 'I have chosen Abraham to instruct his household to follow him in keeping the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to Him.
This seems to suggest that although God had already spoken the words of blessing to Abraham, God still needed Abraham to train a generation that would continue in the ways of God, so that through them, he would bring to pass the promises He had bestowed on Him.
You see this means that our lifestyle could affect the outcome of God's word concerning us. Though the prophecies from God have gone out concerning us, yet we must live our lives in honour and in obedience to God. We have to continue in His ways, otherwise we might compromise His plans for us.
This is because He will bring about those plans which He has from us, through His leadership over our lives. If we don't yield to that leadership, then we simply can't be led into His plans for us. They'd not materialize. Therefore we must be diligent to continue in the ways of the Lord, and in keeping His word. Glory to God.
Affirmation: I am yielded and submissive to the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. I don't live by my own ways and plans but by the leadings of the Spirit. I live my life with the Word of God as my Lord. I am led by God into His plans for me. Glory to God. Hallelujah.
