Love, Light and Life

... more than a devotional

meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,

Colossians‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Prayer births opportunities! This is one reason why God desires that we become very prayerful people. It's because to do the things which He has designed us to do, we would need a lot of opportunities. To reach souls, to speak to them, to win them, we need opportunities.

To influence governments, policies, education, arts and culture, we need opportunities. These opportunities will not come to us as they should unless we pray. And why so? Obviously because there is a god of this age (2 Corinthians 4:4), and there are evil princes in the air (Ephesians 2:2).

These evil forces do their best to stop opportunities from coming to God's people. They also try to ensure that if opportunities come, they stand as an opposition to the opportunity, just like apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 16:9.

Thus we must pray. Because our prayers paralyze the activities of these devils, and ensure our opportunities come to us. When we pray, we are also filled with the wisdom of God, such that we take advantage of the opportunities that come to us. The opportunities brought by the Spirit increases our effectiveness. Thus we should give ourselves to prayer always.

Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for your gift of opportunities made available to me through the Holy Spirit. Indeed all things work together for my good. I pray Lord that doors to be more effective in my work for you, be opened to me, and I take advantage of them by your wisdom in Jesus name. Amen.
