DAY AND NIGHT

And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

Genesis 1:4‭-‬5 NKJV

When the Spirit of God began to recreate the earth, the earth was full of darkness and emptiness. One of the first things that God did was to call forth Light. God said, let there be Light, and there was Light. It's important to note that this light wasn't merely daylight. Because the sun wasn't created yet.

This light was the manifestation of the move of the Spirit over the earth, and the rhema of God which had gone forth. God saw the Light, that it was good, and so he separated Light from darkness. He sanctified the Light as different from darkness. He called the Light Day, and the darkness He called night.

These were not times of the day, like you have daylight and nighttime. Because the sun and moon weren't created yet. These were realms of spiritual existence. The Day (Light) was the realm of God's Spirit and presence. The realm where His word rules and makes a difference, while the Night (darkness) is the realm separate from the effect of God's presence.

Do you now realise why we are called sons of the day and of the light? (1 Thessalonians 5:5). It's a spiritual reality. It's our place in Christ. Whether it's daytime or nighttime, if you are in Christ, you are of the day, you have the light of God in you, so you cannot walk as blind, but as wise, discerning the way of life. Glory to God!

Affirmation: Glory to God! I am of the Day and the Light. I am not of the night, neither do I walk in darkness. The life of God is my light, and I walk in the light. I shine my light even in this dark world, and the darkness cannot get a hold of me! Thank you Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
