THE RHEMA, A RESULT OF THE SPIRIT
...And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.
Genesis 1:2-3 NKJV
Did you know, there is a difference between speaking the word ordinarily from your mind, and speaking it from the depths of your spirit? Jesus said, it is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh profits nothing. The words I speak to you are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).
This drives us to think along spiritual understanding. The words Jesus spoke are spirit and they are life. They weren't ordinary words. That's why they always made a difference! Anybody can speak, but only words of the Spirit make an eternal difference!
Observe the character of God in creation. God created things by speaking them forth. But He didn't just speak all of a sudden. In the midst of the darkness and the void in the earth, the scripture records that the Spirit of God was first brooding over the face of the deep. He was going over it, more like meditation and groanings in the Spirit.
Then God said, let there be light! Because now, the Spirit had been hoovering, and the rhema was ready to be deployed! The word of the spirit is the rhema of God, to cause the change which is necessary. Don't just speak from your mind. Engage the spirit in prayer and meditation, and the rhema will be cooked, and burst forth from you. Hallelujah!
Affirmation: I carry in me the Spirit of God, ready to cook and deploy the rhema of God when and where necessary. I don't merely speak from my mind. The words I speak are born of God. Those words are spirit, and they are life! Glory to God!
