CONTINUALLY IN PRAYER AND IN THE WORD
but we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4
Our Christianity is about Christ who has come to give a new kind of life to people who who believe in Him. All men who submit to Christ Jesus as Lord, have the life of Christ. Now your life is expressed in your lifestyle. And so the life of Christ in you should not just be audio or stealth.
It should be seen, by you first personally and then by others. A part of this lifestyle is a life of prayer and the ministry of the word.These two are part of the basic cardinals for a successful reign on earth. The Christian should pray not because he’s seeking a particular thing at a particular season,
Not because he’ has a specific problem, but because the life of continuous and heartfelt prayer is what was implanted in you by Jesus. Same for the word. There’s no sustained spiritual growth without consistency in the word. Just as a child cannot grow properly without being consistently fed well.
Don’t be deceived to think you’re doing God or your society a favour when you pray or study. It should just be your lifestyle consistently. Do you think you have achieved something when you eat or breathe? So also it is with prayer and the word. It’s your normal life! Otherwise your Christianity will be full of struggles.
