WHERE IS YOUR MIND SET?
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5
Yesterday, we talked about how you live or walk having been born again. And we saw that living the life of Christ is not just an automatic experience. You've got to intentionally seize that Life as your new Life, and work it out. But how? Here it is... What your mind is placed on.
Remember that overtime, before you got born again, you only knew the sinful carnal life, so your mind was clouded by carnal fleshy things. Now you have been born again, you have a new Life to live, but not a new mind automatically, and your mind set determines your way of living. So it's still possible to live according to the flesh even though you have been born again.
This can happen if you don't change the things that you set your mind on, from things of the flesh (carnal things) to things of the Spirit. Because your mind determines your first point of response to life.
So even though you have a recreated spirit, if you do not have a renewed mind, your first response to life will be born out of fleshy impulses. Thus you have a responsibility; if you must live according to the Spirit, to change the things your mind is focused on, from carnal things to spiritual things. Let your primary mind fillers be truth from the Word instead of the many things in the world. You're blessed. TCF.
