WE NEED HELP
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Romans 8:26
One thing every believer in Christ must understand is that no matter how old or how mature we become, we will always need help. God Himself knew this and He provided us with the Helper, hallelujah. Remember, though we are born again, we still live and function within a physical body (which didn’t get born again with us).
Right here, we see (in our theme verse) that the spirit also helps in our weaknesses. This simply means that the weaknesses exist, but why? They aren’t there because we received them from Christ, no. They are there because this physical body in which we dwell offers us a lot of limitations, and so we must be helped.
This is the exact reason the Holy Spirit came to live in us. To bring us that help which we cannot do without. Without His ministry, we will definitely fail, no matter how much we want to stand. The simple truth is, we cannot make it on our own without Him. But thank God we are not without Him. He lives in us, and supplies us help which corresponds exactly to our need.
Never make the mistake of thinking that because of the level you are in now, or the beautiful spiritual experiences that you enjoy now, you are beyond being tempted. No! But always remember that you have weaknesses due to the body, which the Holy Spirit has come to help you with. This acknowledgment will help you stand. You are helped. TCF.
