JOY IN THE PAIN
And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, 1 Thessalonians 1:6
Like we said yesterday, the joy of the Holy Spirit is not dependent on events or happenstances around us.God is able to keep us in perfect joy, even in the most difficult situations , through the Holy Spirit who we have inside of us.
Watch the words of the apostle to the Christians at Thessalonica. They received the word in much affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit.How amazing is that. When the word came to them, they were in affliction, persecution, difficult situations.
Yet, they received the word even in those difficult conditions with the joy of the Holy Spirit. How glorious! The affliction you see today has no authority to steal your joy away! Because your joy is of your father who dwells in you! When we say, "with Jesus' joy in our hearts…" It’s not a formality it’s a reality!
Refuse to be easily influenced by the things happening around you. Rather choose to influence the things that happen around you, because you have the Holy Spirit‘s power within you.His joy is your advantage. Be strong by the joy in your heart which is of the Lord. You’re blessed. TCF
