RENEW YOUR MIND
Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We know as believers that we are meant to live holy, pure and consecrated lives. We also know that we've got the Holy Spirit to help us with this, and as a result of our nature in Christ, we are dead to sin.
Despite all these, to many, it's still a struggle to live for Jesus and as Jesus on earth. Why? Simply because many people are trying to live holy lives with carnal minds. This is the root of all the struggles. Trying to live the new life, with the mind of the old man. It wouldn't just work. You'll only get frustrated at the end of the day if you attempt such. What must be done then? It's the renewal of the mind.
Every Christian must submit his mind to be renewed by the Word, if he or she must live in the reality of the Word. You may not just start living perfectly overnight simply because you got born again, no. Your life which is lived out is the product of your spirit and your soul (your mind, thoughts, imaginations, emotions, Motives etc)
This means that even though your spirit is recreated, if your soul is still carnal, then you will live carnally. This is the simple reason, many people struggle with their Christian walk. It's not because the devil has held them bound. It's simply because they have been irresponsible with the renewal of their minds. Submit your mind to be re-educated by the Holy Spirit through the Word of God. That's where the reality of the new man is seen. You're blessed. -TCF
