THE MYSTERY OF THE COVENANT
Galatians 4:21-26
Observe these allegories and understand what they mean. Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman. This is symbolic of God the Father having two covenants. The old, and the new covenants. The old covenant begot Israel of the old, and the new covenant begets Israel of the new. God cut the old covenant and sealed it with man, The man Moses. The blood of Bulls and animals were used to ratify it. I.e put it into operation. God cut the new covenant and sealed it with Himself. (Hebrews 6:12, Genesis 22:16). He could not find any name greater than His own name, so he swore by His own name. His own name who is above every other name. His own name who is Jesus Christ.
The new covenant was already sworn and prepared before time began. God Himself had to come in the likeness of man, in the form of Jesus Christ, and give His life. Therefore by the blood of God the lamb, the new covenant was ratified and put into operation. Now this same Jesus, who was and is God, and who died to seal the new covenant, resurrected as the first born, the first product, the first fruit of the new covenant. Remember He has been the only begotten Son of God even before time began. He died and resurrected and also became the first born of the new covenant. Now men that believe in Him are united with His death, and receive the Life of the only begotten Son. Those who believe are born of the new covenant and have in them the life of the only begotten Son. We sons who believe in Christ, are those men. To be continued tomorrow
