TREAT YOUR JUNIORS WITH RESPECT
Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven. Colossians 4:1 NKJV
Do you know that God desires that you should be respectful to everybody? God wants you to treat everyone with respect, irrespective of their age, race, behaviour, or even status in life. When you study the scriptures you realise this.
You don't respect people only because they deserve respect. You also don't respect people only because they're older than you, or in a position of higher authority than you. No. You respect people, simply because they are people, created by God. Truly this is not easy with the power of the flesh,
Because many times people will offend you, and behave in ways that make you think they're not deserving of respect. So you must be full of the Spirit, and see the Word as more important than them. It's not about them. God has made you a respectful person, so live like that.
Don't fall for the trap of looking down on the younger ones or on those placed in seemingly lower positions than you are. It's easy to look at them with contempt or to think you shouldn't respect them. But you should, because the Word of God said so. Treat everyone fairly and rightly, because it's pleasing to God. Be conscious of this.
Affirmation: I treat everyone with respect, not because they're deserving of it, but because I am a respectful person. I have the love of God in me, and I recognise that everybody is someone for whom Jesus died. I spread God's love and character to people by the way I treat them, in Jesus name. Amen.
