THE ARMY OF THE LORD
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:19 NKJV
Imagine an alien force landed in this world, defying all our military intelligence and strength. As soon as their commander set foot on ground, he gave instructions to his comrades, "go into this world, and bring all the people here to us. Ensure they become like us, because you have the power and authority".
Wouldn't you immediately consider that as an invasion by that alien force? Surely it is! A military invasion by a force alien to this world! Now, read our theme verse again in this light. Jesus started the statement by saying, "all authority (absolute power to rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to me." (Matthew 28:18).
Those are not the Words of an ordinary civilian! Those are the Words of a mighty general! Then He continues,"go therefore into all the world, and make disciples of all nations, baptising them into my name." He sent us on a military invasion!
Jesus Christ established us, the church here on earth as God's army in this world. What's our assignment? To bring everyone to Christ, and spread His kingdom here on earth! You're not an ordinary civilian. No, you're the member of an army who came from outside this world! The time to both resume and intensify duty is now!
Affirmation: I refuse to let my world remain subject to the power of darkness. I am a soldier, a member of an army who came from outside this world. Our mandate is perfect, to give life to men. I will not stop, until they all receive it. I take up responsibility. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!
