APPLY YOUR EFFORTS TO THE SPIRIT
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.
Galatians 6:8 NKJV
He who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption. The word sow, is usually used to describe the planting of a seed. A unit put in the ground to bring produce. In essence the sow term here, describes an effort or energy with the potential to produce results.
He who applies his energy to the flesh, will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who applies his energy to the Spirit, will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. This tells you that your outcome in the process of time, will be very largely dependent on the things you apply your efforts to right now.
Someone who makes very little time for God, and is largely occupied with things which aren't inspired by God, will soon enough look like those things. Worldliness is not an accident, just as spiritual maturity isn't. You may not be where you desire to be yet, but what are you doing consciously with your energy?
It is impossible to give attention to God, by His Word and Holy Spirit and not be transformed. It is impossible to give attention to working out spiritually and not be built up. Apply you efforts to the Spirit, and your life will soon look like the story of Christ, told by God. Hallelujah.
Affirmation: I choose to apply my efforts to the things of the Spirit, paying attention to them and giving myself to them. In the process of time, I will be evidently the result of the Word of God. Glory to God in Jesus name. Amen.
