YOU GIVE GOD JOY
having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
Ephesians 1:5 NKJV
Do you know that your presence in Christ gives God joy? He chose you to be in Him, long before time began, because that's something that would greatly please Him. That's exactly what our theme verse says. We were predestined to be adopted as His sons according to the good pleasure of His will.
The NLT translation puts it even more clearly. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. (Ephesians 1:5 NLT).
You see, He didn't select you to be saved because He was compelled to do so. No. It's because it is what He wanted, and it gave Him great pleasure. This tells you that God is happy about you. Little wonder His thoughts for you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a glorious life! (Jeremiah 29:11).
This news should give you a confidence as you stand before God, and think about Him. Learn to trust Him and His plans for you. He has the best for you, better than anything you can ever give to yourself. Therefore trust Him, and walk with Him.
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, I thank you, because you have loved me with a genuine love even before the world began. I thank you, because you are happy to bring me home to you. I call you my home dear Lord. I choose to live for you everyday. In Jesus name. Amen.
