RELIABLE WORDS
as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures.
II Peter 3:16 NKJV
In our theme verse, apostle Peter was talking about some of the writings and teachings of Apostle Paul. He said some of his writings were hard to understand, and therefore some ignorant people twist them to mean what apostle Paul never meant. Then he said, they also do this to the rest of scripture.
How profound it is, that apostle Peter, rated the writings of apostle Paul, (a fellow apostle during his lifetime), as scripture. He said just as they twist the letters of apostle Paul to mean something else, that's how they also twist the rest of scripture.
This means he considered the writings of apostle Paul, to also be scripture. Why? Because He knew that there were inspired by the Holy Spirit. They weren't just mere words. Jesus said, the words I speak to you, they are Spirit and Life. (John 6:63). This was because His words were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
When the words of a person are inspired by the Holy Spirit, they aren't ordinary words. They become God's word through that person. They become reliable words. It's the Holy Spirit, who is the source of those words, that makes the difference. He is the author of scripture. Glory to God.
Affirmation: I refuse to talk anyhow. I choose to speak the word of God per time, and declare words as inspired by the Holy Spirit. My mind and my mouth are blessed. They are for thinking and speaking Spirit and Life. Glory to God.
