OBEDIENT CHILDREN
as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
I Peter 1:14 NKJV
An obedient child is a child who has a culture of adhering to the instructions of his parents. This is a child who is full of honour for his parents, and takes their words to heart. It is in such a child's character to do so.
The word of God encourages us to live as obedient children live. In fact, we are actually addressed as God's obedient children. The life of Christ in us, forms a new character in us. The character of obedience to God.
Remember that the proof of love is obedience to God's word. And the love of God has already been poured out in our hearts, through the Holy Spirit who God has given to us. And so as we yield to God's love, and God's word in us, we grow in obedience.
You've got to learn to tell yourself the truth, as it so important to build you up. Very often, say to yourself, in the name of the Lord Jesus, I am obedient to God. I respond to the word, and I'm yielded to the Holy Spirit. Make this your meditation, and see what character of obedience will be developed in you. Hallelujah!
Affirmation: In the name of the Lord Jesus, I am obedient to God. I respond to the word. I follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. My lifestyle is to do the word, to seek the counsel of God and follow it, in the name of the Lord Jesus I pray. Amen.
