INFLUENCED BY COMMUNICATIONS
Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” I Corinthians 15:33 NKJV
Some of the Christians in Corinth were beginning to believe and teach that there was no such thing as the resurrection from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:12). This teaching was dangerous for their faith in Christ because it contradicted the truth that Christ was raised from the dead, and this truth is the foundation of our Christianity.
Now apostle Paul in correcting them put it out that they were being deceived by certain communications they were entertaining. Evil communications were beginning to corrupt their good manners. In essence, they were being influenced by the communications they had entertained.
You see, each one of us are influenced by the communications we entertain. These communications can come in form of people, books, social media, movies, novels, songs, friends, teachers in school, pastors in church, and so on. Basically, anything that speaks a thought to us can and will influence us.
But how we will be influenced is dependent on the character of the communication we receive. Good communications will definitely influence you positively, while the wrong communications no matter how little they are will have a negative effect on us. If you want to be influenced positively, pay attention to entertain only good communications.
Prayer: I Thank you dear Lord for your wisdom and communication coming to me today. I thank you for the grace given to me to select the things which will go on to influence me. By your wisdom Lord, I'll stay away from things, contents and people that will influence me negatively in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
