And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, Ephesians 4:11‭-‬12 NKJV

Many who are in the body of Christ don't understand that they have been deployed for divine assignments here on earth. Many think that the work of ministry is only for pastors or various Christian leaders. They also think that this work is to be done on the pulpit on Sunday.

But then, observe our theme verse again. Christ gave the saints of God apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, that the saints should be equipped for the work of ministry. This means that God didn't consider what the five fold ministry men were doing on the saints as the full scope of the work of ministry.

In fact, He considered it as them preparing and equipping the saints (who now could be the congregation), for the work of ministry. In other words, Christ expects that it is the saints who have been equipped, that will now go out to perform the work of ministry. This tells us something. The work of ministry isn't in the church. It's in your field.

And you've been deployed, glory to God! You go to the church to get prepared and equipped, so that you can be effective in your place of deployment! You are an asset to heaven, and you have a responsibility to establish the kingdom of God in your field. Gird up soldier. God is with you.

Affirmation: I have been deployed in heavens army for the work of ministry. I have a call and a purpose in Christ which I will fulfill, and the Holy Spirit within me helps me always in this course. Glory to God in Jesus name. Amen
