YOUR DESIRES AS A GUIDE
The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires... Galatians 5:17 NLT
As we grow in Christ, the Holy Spirit continues to replace our old desires with His own desires. This is one way to know that growth is taking place. When you begin to loose passion and desire for things that are wrong or unimportant, things which you used to love before.
This change of desire and passions happens as we continue to fellowship with the Holy Spirit in prayer, meditation and worship. His thoughts, ideas, and character continues to rub off on us, and we continue to learn inherently how you behave like Him.
As you continue to grow, you realise that what He's doing is to prune you, such that the desires He puts and leaves within you are things that are necessary for your assignment. There may be many talents or skills you had, but he can reduce the passion for one in you, and increase the passion for another.
Thus those desires that continue to grow as you grow in fellowship with the Holy Spirit are a guide to what your assignment or calling could be related to. And those desires and passions that fade as you get closer to the Holy Spirit are an indication of things you shouldn't focus on, at least not yet.
Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, thank you for leading me in diverse ways, and for helping me understand your leadership and communication to me. I love you so much Lord, and I'll follow you till the end in Jesus name. Amen
