PEOPLE ARE NEEDED
Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.” Acts 18:9-10 NKJV
After Paul had faced series of attacks in different cities, he finally came to a city where God told Him to speak very boldly, because no one would attack him there. The Lord said, no one will attack him there because He (the Lord) had many people in the city.
You see people are needed. If the work of God is advancing it's because of people. If it's the devil's work also advancing, it's because of people. It's not the Lord's will that Christians should be persecuted. But then in many places Christians go, they encounter non Christians.
Most people who don't walk with the Holy Spirit are inspired by demon spirits and so carry out the devil's acts. But in a place where God's people are prevalent, it's the work of God that will prevail.
You see, the Lord actually expects you be to functional in your own environment. If He told Paul, no one will attack you here because I have many people here, that tells you that he had an expectation from his people there. The same is true for you. God has an expectation for you where you are.
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus for choosing me to be one of your own. I realise you have an expectation for me. Help me Lord to know your will for me, and to walk in it. And to know your work for me, and to do it in Jesus name. Amen.
