THE WISDOM OF DEDICATED PRAYER

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Acts 3:1 NKJV

Observe that Peter and John had such a time which they recognised as the hour of prayer. This was a period within which they were dedicated to pray. This shows us a little ingredient in how to make spiritual progress in our lives.

We ought to have dedicated prayer times. This does not override praying spontaneously or as often as you're led by the Spirit, but this tells us that we ought to also have a discipline to prayer.

In our world today, there are a lot of negative distractions, and even some well meaning distractions (like work or academics or business), which can keep one from a consistent prayer life unless you become more intentional about it.

Without dedicated prayer times, and without practicing the required discipline to keep them, you would most likely not pray as much as you ought to as a Christian. It is wisdom to have a dedicated prayer time(s).

AFFIRMATION: I am a praying person. I have in me the Spirit of prayer. I believe that I ought always to pray and not give up. Therefore, I choose to pray by discipline, irrespective of circumstances, feelings or situations, in Jesus name. Amen!
