“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Those were the words of Jesus just before His death on the cross. Following His conversation in chapter 13, you'd notice that He spoke to them about something that was very imminent. The place He spoke of, was where He was going to be after His death. It was imminent.

Notice the language of Jesus here. He was going to prepare a place for those who believe and when He had gone and prepared a place, He would come back and receive them to Himself. Very striking. He was going to receive them to Himself, that is to Christ.

And so He returned after His resurrection and first ascension (John 20:17). When we received the Holy Spirit, we were received to Christ, and made to sit at the right hand of God along with Jesus. He had prepared a place for us.

That place is at the right hand of God, and God received us to Himself through Jesus, by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 2:6). We're not waiting to go there in the rapture. We have been with Him ever since our salvation. Glory to God!

Affirmation: I know I have a place in Christ. I'm seated far far above principalities and powers, at the right hand of God, in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. I'm above the systems of this world and therefore I will not live by them. I live only by the word of God in Jesus name. Amen!
