BY THE WORD AND THE SPIRIT
“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.”
John 4:23 NKJV
Do you know that the word of God tells us how to worship God? Worship isn't just an emotion stirring sound or song we sing. It has to be accurately inspired by the word of God. True worship must be in truth (the Word) and in Spirit (through the Holy Spirit).
The scripture tells us in Romans 12:1 how to worship God with our bodies. Our bodies are the Temple of God, and in honour of God we must keep them holy. Separate from sin and worldliness.
True worship spans beyond the songs on Sunday service. It's the life we live. It's the words we speak, it's in the thoughts we allow to stay in us. God even tells us what words to use to worship Him.
Hebrews 13:15 tells us that through Jesus we should continually offer to God true spiritual sacrifices using our lips. He says we should speak words of thanksgiving to His name. You see, worship is intentional and must spring from the word and the Spirit.
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for you are great and worthy to be praised. Your name is lifted above every other name. You are the only true God. Praise be to you in Jesus name. Amen.
