GRACE AND TRUTH
For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17
See the very beautiful comparison we have here. The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. In other words, grace and truth replaced the law when we came to Jesus Christ.
The law is a compendium of the requirement of how everything should be done, without the empowerment to meet up with those requirements. Thus everyone who attempted to live by the law ended up in a rat race of never fulfilling the requirements of the law.
But in Christ Jesus, this is not the story. We have been delivered from sin and not only that, we have been made right with God. That is, the requirement of the law, is already fulfilled in us because of our submission to Jesus Christ.
What's more? We have received and live by His grace as we walk in His truth, which is also our truth. His grace is His mercy and empowerment for us to walk in the truth. We don't have to try to obey the law. Mercy and help has come to us already. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you dearly for your grace and truth at work in me. I have been delivered from the law, into your divine presence of Liberty. I live by your mercies and grace, and walk in your truth in Jesus name. Amen
