“Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Have you ever thought of giving, and then you gave, but with a pained heart?  Or you gave not because you wanted to give, but because they pressured you into giving and you would have actually rather not given , had they not forced you?

Well yeah, such things have happened at times. And it’s even sad to realize that such giving didn’t please God. In other words, they weren’t really accepted. Why? Because they were not from an eager or cheerful heart. Spiritually, giving is not so much about the substance given physically.

It’s more about the heart from which the givings proceed. Is the heart regretful, is the heart angry? Is the heart feeling forced, or feeling scammed, or having grudges? God does not want such from you. God does not delight in every giver. He only delights in the cheerful giver. (2 corinth. 9:7)

Is it important to give? Yes! But it is even more important how you give. Be the right kind of giver. Give out of love, gratitude and with a cheerful heart. And give according to what you have.

Affirmation: I choose to give and to give cheerfully! I have in abundance and so I give generously! I choose to be the right kind of giver, by the grace of God. Hallelujah!
