HONOURABLE BEFORE MEN
“We are careful to be honorable before the Lord, but we also want everyone else to see that we are honorable.” 2 Corinthians 8:21 NLT.
As we pay attention to being honourable. in the sight of God, that is living a life of integrity before God, we should also understand the importance of being honorable before men as well. Why is this important?
In our daily lives, we relate with men. In our workplaces, in a career, in our ministry, we relate with men a lot. Many times if God gives us instructions, it has to do with people. And when we talk about soul winning, it is people we are dealing with.
A man who is considered dishonorable in the sight of humans will have limited influence with them, and thus what he can achieve for the kingdom of God among men will also be reduced. We are not men pleasers, so we don’t leave for the applause of people.
But even someone who refuses to applaud you because you didn’t meet his crooked demands, will hold you in high esteem if you live right. For the sake of Christ and His love for souls, choose to be straightforward, a person of integrity, honourable before men.
Affirmation: I choose to be honorable before God and also to be honorable before men. I do not live for the applause of people, but being a child of God, I live a straightforward life, full of integrity. To the glory of God! hallelujah!
