NO CONDEMNATION! 1
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:1
The very popular Romans 8:1 could be easily misunderstood by many, especially when they try to lift the single verse out of the whole. Some have gone on to avoid the last part because they think it's difficult to them.
But the Holy Spirit gives simple clarity to scripture especially when you study it wholly, not just in tiny bits. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
Now further down in verse 4, we read that the righteous requirement of the law has been fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. "Us" here still refers to the same audience been spoken to in verse one.
And the righteous requirement of the law is simply righteousness. That's all the law was trying to fulfill in man all the while. This righteousness has been achieved in "us" who are in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!! (TBC Tomorrow). You're blessed. TCF
