KNOWN BY HIM
But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, .....Galatians 4:9
We who are in Christ Jesus have not just come to know God, but we are also known by God. In this context we understand that not everyone is known by God. On the day of judgement, some people will come to Christ and claim that they did things in His name,
And He'd say, depart from me, I never knew you. (Matthew 7:21-23). So not everyone claiming to be a member of Christ actually is. The Bible says even the devil disguises as an angel of light and of course, his disciples disguise too.
But we who are born again, and baptized into Christ, have not only come to know God, but are also known by Him. In other words, he has identified us as His own recognising us by His Holy Spirit in us.
We who once were not a people are now the people of God, because we have obtained mercy before Him through Christ Jesus (1 Peter 2:10). You who are in Christ are known by God. Be confident and rejoice. You're blessed. TCF
