If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. John 13:14

The word of God is that water by which we wash our minds clean. Since we relate with this world with our senses through our mind, the mind is most prone to contamination, just as the feet is the first part of the body prone to being affected by the dirt on the ground.

We know we ought to keep our minds clean by the Word, but Jesus asks us to do something else just as beautiful. He says, just as I have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one anothers feet. This gives us a responsibility with respect to the people around us and the people we relate with.

We should help make others clean from the filth in the world, by our words and actions. We owe ourselves the responsiblity of meditating on the word daily as this cleanses our minds with the word. But if we truly love the Lord, then we should love one another just as we love ourselves, and treat others in love as we should treat ourselves.

Don't be the reason someone else gets dirty. Rather relate with people such that because of their relationship with you, they'd have the opportunity to be drawn closer to the Lord.So let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, and teach and admonish one another by the word of God. Have the word effect on others. You're blessed.TCF
