TRUST AND OBEY

that’s going to speak to your spirit In Jesus’ name Amen 🙏
The hymnal SSS 662 “Trust and obey” has always been one of my favorites..
Stanza 1
“When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way. While we do his good will he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.”
A very touching stanza.. God promises to walk with us only and only when we also walk with him (if you can understand this). By choosing to walk with God, we are choosing to deny ourselves, to make his own desires and purpose our priority. We choose to deny our flesh, the desires of our bodies just to make sure that God’s will becomes our own will. We have to obey!! But obedience isn’t easy🤷🏻♀️ because It is in man to disobey, his flesh causes him to do what is contrary to God’s word (this is where God’s grace steps in) He fills us with his spirit that quickens our mortal bodies and helps us to obey his word.
Now when we choose to trust him and obey his word.. when we choose to walk with God.. God makes our desires and needs his own, he sees to it immediately, when we call.. he comes instantly!! Are you following ??😌 isn’t it amazing? Why? Cause you’ve chosen to walk with God, you’ve chosen to trust and obey his word, you’ve chosen to submit your will for the will of God’s. You love God, so God will bless you beyond your widest imagination. Read that stanza again if you still don’t understand 😩
Stanza 3 says
“But we can never prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay (everything about us, our will, ourselves)
For the favor he shows, for the joy he bestows, are for them who will trust and obey”
May God help you understand this powerful stanza.
I’ll end this article with the last stanza
“Then in fellowship sweet, we will sit at his feet or we’ll walk by his side in the way; what he says we will do, where he sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey”
We have a special place with God when we trust and obey him. What a privilege it is to walk by his side or to even sit at his feet. One who walks with God can’t be plagued with fear.. impossible!!! But all these wonderful things are only for those who trust God and obey him. When you love God, it’s natural to trust God and obey his words. When you love someone, you want to make that person happy right? You can do anything just to please that person.
My prayer for you is that God puts his love in your heart so that you can learn to trust him and obey him. Amen
