For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, Philippians 1:29

To us it has been granted in Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake. The truth is that it’s a privilege to suffer for the sake of Jesus Christ. Not everyone has the privilege.

To suffer for Christ’s sake means to be treated unfairly because of the Christian faith. Only a true son of the kingdom, who is living the eternal life expressly can have such a privilege. The fulfillment and satisfaction that comes knowing that the reason for your mistreatment is because of unreserved submission to the Holy Spirit is different from ordinary.

It might be painful in a way, but suffering for Christ builds a beautiful kind of faith, love and passion for Him too. That’s why we should learn to rejoice in our persecution for Christ’s sake because not everyone has the privilege.

What is our joy in suffering for the Lord? The Lord sees all things, and takes note of every little detail. And we know that if we suffer for His sake, great will be our salvation and reward. See trials and persecutions for Christ’s sake differently. It is a privileged thing, to be among those that suffer for Christ. You’re so blessed. TCF.
