Being free from all other kinds sin save one does not justify a man from being regarded to as a sinner.
If probably you would not want to completely affirm to the above, then take this question "What is Sin?"
Without much ado, any quality that is abhorred by God or detestable to him is automatically nothing but Sin.
He will never be divided upon himself and therefore won't accept that which is not part of his personality.
Dear reader, in lieu to the above, I will be bringing you as you dig further one thing that has been hindering many from so many things they ought to be enjoying.
Many has loss their identity and have caused their lives to be in a stagnant position due to failure or ignorance on their part towards this.
To them, they are not sinners probably because they have been doing every other thing they think they ought to do.
However, this one thing many as taken for granted and perhaps counted as not necessary to be observed.
They don't know that it is in fact a quality which is a course to live for. It is something that should be part of every true believer as it is to God the Father.
What is this quality we talked about?
It is Forgiveness of course.
I recalled sometime ago when I made a post on forgiveness in 2020, one of the commentors said "Thanks for this ma. But it is not easy".
Yes! I definitely know and understand that it is not easy to forgive but the question is "Is anything too hard for God to do?" Absolutely No.
We know forgiveness is not easy but it is necessary. And I tell you, a man who is truly ready to forgive, God would help to forgive.
Unforgiveness as it is has become one of the plagues that have seriously and steadily been ravaging deep down the souls of many in our present World. Not only the world but also within the body of Christ.
It has seperated homes, relationships, keep wars, bridges Love and cause undue tension in the lives of many.
Undue quest for revenge can be traced to the cord of unforgiveness.
Due to this, Forgiveness has become an enemy to many as it become one of the hardest if not the most hardest thing they will ever think of engaging themselves with as long as they are breathing.
To a man who is suffering from pains of betrayal, desertion or denial, he ensure that he distance himself so far away from the word forgiveness. The gravity of his resolution even become greater when those excruciating pangs are coming from people who he has trusted and have so much hope on.
It become so painful to be dealt with as the trust he has for those loved ones become shattered. Hence, he tends to view life as deceitful as the water from the brooks which is swifter than the flash itself.
The truth is that there is no way the flesh to the flesh won't offend each other.
Don't be deceived, no two people can live together without having one or two differences to settle but what differentiates or stand as a mark out sign is "Ability to let go".
Ability to let go off the sources of the pain, pangs, betrayal or torture is the solution. This is what makes some couple lived together for forty, fifty and to years of strong Love and unity until death separate their mortal bodies from each other without having a broken marriage.
Not that you won't have differences but there must be a deliberate effort to study and understand the weakness or odds of the other person (s) involve.
Before you proceed, you must understand that forgiveness is a true mark of maturity.
it is not for babes!
You might be wondering if some offences are forgiveable while others are not. Well, the instruction is that even though we are offended or wronged either deliberately or otherwise, we should find a place in our heart to forgive and forget the sources or causes of those pains/betrayal/rejection.
If the Lord God Almighty can take us to himself despite our filthiness, stains or human mistakes, then nothing should stop us from forgiving a fellow brethren.
We are definitely expected to follow God in like manner.
The perception of those betrayals, pain, emabrassment or even disappointment have a great role to play in our lives either for the best or for the worst.
Yes the hurt can be so excruciating, remembering those scenarios can be annoying. Nevertheless, you just have to forgive.
It is as though your own forgiveness from God is dependent on this. Not even as though but absolutely dependent on it.
Forgiveness might not be as easy as it is being penned down here but anything attainable by God is always accessible.
If God is asking you to forgive then it is possible regardless of the gravity of the offense.
This time around, let go off your right. It is not even about your right this time but what matters is the love and peace that forgiveness brings.
Humanly speaking the person should be the one apologising right? Yes.. but still make a move to go and ask for forgiveness and ensure you already forgive the person before going to settle the differences.
WHY MUST I FORGIVE?
1. UNFORGIVENESS BRINGS LIMITATIONS: It is an indicator that attracts limitations upon the life of man and this was why the word of God admonishes us to go and settle our differences before we even bring him offering.
It brings limitations to prayers, abilities, attainability of blessings, breakthrough, visitations and the likes. So to avoid limitations you must forgive and forget.
Remember the word in Mark 11:25-26 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."
2. UNFORGIVENESS IS AN ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE: An act to disobedience of God's word which says Luke 17:3-4 "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him" KJV
if you are not forgiving those that offend you or wrong you it indicate that you are a disobedient Son/ Daughter.
since it was in James 1:22 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves"
Are you a son of deception?
If you know you are not a Son or daughter of deception, you must Forgive.
3. UNFORGIVENESS BRINGS HATRED AND UNREST: Unforgiveness is an hatred activator and where it exist there is always lack of peace. And when the mind goes wrong, everything about the man goes wrong.
This was why God demonstrated his love for us through forgiveness of our sins by sending his only begotten son to the world to die for the redemption of mankind even while we are yet Sinners. He forgives our trespasses, demonstrated his love for us giving us peace (Jesus).
Therefore, to be a radiator of God's love and to enjoy peace with both man and God, you must forgive and forget.
Raging and dwelling on the past will only raze things down within a spur of the moment.
If you are living in view of the injuries of the past, it is high time you took this antidote called forgiveness so that those faults won't become your flaws.
Forgive yourself. Let go off them!
It hurts and when you keep it lingering, it hurts the more.
See what the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 "To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ; Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."
According to the above, the Apostle Identified unforgiveness as a scheme of the devil. Therefore, he necessitates forgiveness in order not to fall prey of the devices of the devil. Will you rather let the devil have his way when the needful keep tarrying in your hands?
Mind you, the best way to forgive is to assume that nothing has happened initially. Hard to do right? it works!
You should make a resolution now to settle all differences you have with people.
HOW CAN I FORGIVE AND FORGET?
it is not just all about forgiving. it requires a great deal of determination and commitment to forgive and forget those pains that have been inflicted upon your flesh. it is worthy of note that drawing away from that commitment only draws you closer to the presence of the jury.
It entails that you make it a deliberate effort.
Where unforgiveness dwells, Love Would never abound and living in hatred is equivalent to living in darkness.
Come to the light of the word today. It saves expressively.
It is not just about forgiving but it entails that you surrender all your ego so as not to hinder that bold step.
Free yourself off those feelings of pains, regrets, revenge and isolation today by taking that antidote (Forgiveness).
Forgiveness is just a step to the door of liberation.
Ask the holy spirit to help you forget the sources & causes of the pains as you become liberated from the chains of unforgiveness.
Is it your friend, parents, Spouse, Leader, colleague, blood related or not, take this bold step today to forgive whosoever that person might be that has caused you one form of pain or the other.
Forgiveness is very necessary for us and that is the more reason why Jesus Christ included it in the prayer which he taught his disciples.
You can do it because you can.
