STIR UP THOSE GIFTS
2 Timothy 1:6
Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Every Christian is blessed by God with spiritual gifts. There are areas where you have an abundance of grace to function in. Areas where you excel so easily in. Those are areas of your gifts. Some have also cultivated more gifts in the process of their walk with God or growth in the spirit.
Some have received gifts through the impartation from fellow believers. But the truth is this, no matter how much gifts you have received if you don’t give attention to them, but just ignore them, they will be dormant , and it will be as though they are not there.
We should learn to stir up the gifts of God in us. Fan them to flame and make the most out of them. Remember the servant who buried his talent was rebuked by the master. We must not ignore our gifts. How do you stir them up? Jude 1:20 gives us an idea! Build yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word. So two things are needfull to keep your faith stirred. The word, and prayer! Meditate on the word, those words that pertain to your gifts. Repeat them to yourself always and pray and earnestly. Making power available keep the fire in you burning. Stir up those gifts, and make best use of them, to the glory of God the father!
