PERSECUTIONS WILL COME
2 Timothy 3:12
Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
To have a successful life time on earth as a Christian, it’s important that we understand the word of God, and let it sink into us. The word will toughen us and prepare us for all we are to face on earth . One thing the word reveals to us is that if we desire to live godly lives on earth , then we can sure expect to be persecuted by those who are conformed to this world.
Even Jesus our Lord didn’t hide these truths from us. In John 15:20 he told us that if they persecuted him, then they will also persecute us. The reason is simple. The spirit and ways of this world are in enmity with the spirit and ways of God.
Therefore anyone who desires to conform to the culture of the kingdom of Christ immediately becomes an enemy to the worldly system. But the good news is this, though the world is antagonistic and wicked towards us, we are not disadvantaged. We remain victorious over any scheme of the enemy.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:19). So don’t be surprised when the world dislikes you for no reason. Don’t be surprised when they function against you. Be glad! Because he that is a friend of Christ must be an enemy to the world. And he that is born of God overcomes the world! You are blessed. TCF
