PRESS TO BE PERFECTED
Philippians 3:12
Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Our call in Christ is a call to be entirely conformed to the character and lifestyle of Jesus Christ, even in our daily living. We are saved to be like, look like, and function like our saviour Jesus Christ, as the Holy Spirit helps us.
It's a call to a daily submission of our own thoughts, feelings, will, emotions, in exchange for His; and this is achieved through willful fellowship with Him. It's a life of daily submission to Christ. The aim is to get perfected in our way of living with His perfection which is already in us. We must let His perfection possess our soul, and find expression through us.
This is not just going to happen by you assuming it would. It takes you to Intentionally decide to allow His life be the only Life you live.Apostle Paul says, "not that I have already attained or I'm already perfected, but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ has laid hold of me".
We press on in the Spirit. We press on in prayers. We press on in fastings. We press on in the Word, to lay hold of that perfection for which Christ got a hold of us. It's a worthy course to tread. Don't get tired friend. Press on for more. You're blessed. -TCF
