PRAYING WITH THE SPIRIT
1 Corinthians 14:15
What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.
Every Christian should master the habit or cultivate the culture of praying extensively with their spirits. I.e praying in tongues and in synch with the Holy Spirit. Why is this necessary? Human language is highly limited, such that the mind cannot capture all that we should pray for, neither can the human language utter all prayers we should make (Romans 8:26).
To curb this supposed limitation from the human body, we have the Holy Spirit who helps our infirmities. (I.e He helps us overcome the supposed limitation such that its no longer a limitation). And He does this by helping us pray, through us!
It's important to note that He does not do His ministry without us. He works in us, on us and through us. Therefore we must yield ourselves to Him. Some people think, "oh I'll pray with the spirit only when it comes". That's so wrong! Praying with the spirit does not come and go. It's a gift from God and it's always with you! Reject that ignorant mentality.
Praying with the spirit is for everybody. Every Christian is fully equipped to pray with their spirit, so don't exempt yourself. It's highly necessary. If you must pray effectively and achieve tangible results, then you must learn to pray extensively and spontaneously with your spirit at all times. Make it a habit. You're blessed. -TCF
