FLEE THE DOCTRINE OF BALAAM

Revelation 2:14

But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

James 1:3 says "let no one say when he is tempted 'i am tempted by God', for God cannot be tempted by evil nor does he tempt anyone". This is how God has recreated us to function, because we are made in the image and likeness of God.

We are not to be a temptation to people, and we are not to cause people fall into temptation of any kind! Some people think it's nice to tempt or 'test' (as they would like to say) the resistance of another person. So they Intentionally set a temptation for their fellow, to see what will become of them. Such thoughts and actions are highly demonic. They are not of God!

That's the doctrine of Balaam in practice! The doctrine of Balaam is the doctrine or lifestyle whereby a person becomes a source or channel of temptation to others, or whereby a person orchestrates temptations for others to fall into. That's a very demonic life to live, and we must flee from such.

Observe your life and ensure that people get edified by your words, actions, lifestyle, appearance, and not tempted to sin. It's wrong to be a temptation. Christ rather wants us to be Watchmen  over ourselves, to help our brothers and sisters stand and not fall. Flee ever appearance of the doctrine of Balaam. Choose to function in love. You're blessed. -TCF
