Topic: Idols in Men ✍️
For Reading And Meditation* Matthew 6:23-24
Thought: Worship is a state of the heart. it is what you are devoted to, so let your heart be focused mainly on God not the things of the world.
Memorise: Ezekiel 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?
Figurines, stones and gold are not what we see today as idols.
Those ones have been considered evil from the first day and now the guise of Christianity has covered the worship of idols.
What we see today as idols are what we draw our hearts to, you can never see a worshipper not devoting his or her heart to whomever he/she is worshipping.
Some youths or teenagers unconsciously worship certain things using Christianity as a guise but they still don’t understand that we cannot worship a mammon and God.
It may be that beauty, it may be the money, it can even be the phone and the list goes on and on, you would notice that pride will set in and they begin to discriminate others because they have devoted their time,resources to this things but still put up their mind as believers.
You cannot be into two things at a time. It is either you serve God or you serve Mammon.
They are two different scenarios.
Those things or instruments you love most check how much time you spend with them and compare it with the time you spend with God. If the need be discard them.
Idols is by the heart so is God and two things cannot occupy one's heart. It is either you give your heart to one and leave one out of your heart.
Assignment: Check yourself properly and know how you devote your time with God.
Prayer point: Lord daily search my heart and clear any form of idol worship out of me.
