DON'T BE A MERE TOOL
Isaiah 37:26
Did you not hear long ago How I made it, From ancient times that I formed it? Now I have brought it to pass, That you should be For crushing fortified cities into heaps of ruins.

God through the prophet Isaiah made it known that the kingdom of Assyria was actually ordained as a tool to crush down fortified cities into ruins. Now the kings of Assyria has actually been fulfilling God's plan without knowing it. They were actually instruments in God's hand, but they weren't aware of this. Until they attempted to over run Israel.
This attempt brought judgement upon them. You see, it's one thing to be a tool or instrument for God's purpose, and it's another thing to be a vessel unto honour. One can be a tool to be used by God, because of God's sovereignty, and still be out of tune or allignment with God.
We are not just called to be tools to fulfill God's purpose, because even unbelievers can do that. All it takes is God's power and sovereignty. We are called to be vessels unto honour! Not just tools, but vessels that'll be used honourably for honourable purposes.
How is this achieved? 2 Timothy 2:21 . If any man purges himself, he will be a vessel unto honour. Notice Apostle Paul didn't say "if God purges a man.." He said, if a man purges himself. This means you have a responsibility, and you must be intentional about it. You are purged by the Word of God, in the place of meditation and prayer. Refuse to be just a tool. Become a vessel unto honour. You're blessed. -TCF
