Topic: Generational influencer
_FOR READING AND MEDITATION: Acts 8:5-13
Thought: If you cannot change the generation you are sent to change, it will change you.
*Memorise*: Acts 8:8 And there was great joy in that city.
Before Jesus Christ went up to meet his father whom has sent him, he promised his disciples to send power and he did. That promise was the great encounter of the disciples at the upper room; the Pentecostal experience.
However, Jesus did not left them in the world to be absorbed or influenced by it but to change it.
One thing to realize is that if the believers of old were flowing with satanic influenced current of their time, they would not have made any impact at all.
The world you need to change must be properly studied. No one can change anything lest the thing be put under close observation.
So to be a Generational influencer, you must study the current situation in your generation. You can't afford to be passive to the awareness of the goings in your generation and expect to change something. This entails that your Spirit Man must be active, your soul must be properly channeled and your body must be expose to the things that will empower you for the change.
Although Phillip was not among the Eleven when the charge of preaching the gospel in Samaria, Judea and outermost part of the earth was given in the Act 1:8" But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth".
Yet in our text for today, we were made to understand that Philip fulfill that charge. He was a great influencer so much that he change the people's mindset towards the Sorcerer and also win them over to Christ Jesus.
It was through this same Phillip that the gospel first got to Samaria. Acts 8:5.
The sorcerer himself wasn't an exemption to this great influenced from Phillip. Act 8:13.
What are you doing for your generation?
As a Christian you are to join in this Vision of the EndTime Missioners.
Just like Philip, you should also make attempts even if you are going to need some assistance thereafter.
Phillip see to it that he played a role in a prophecy that was made by our Lord Jesus Christ even for the fact that he wasn't among those that first handedly receive the charge.
What has been your excuse?
The Vision is not given directly to you but you have a great role to play in as much as it is towards the advancement of the kingdom.
Don't be lured away from this objectives, forget about what men will give to you and press towards the mark of the price of the high calling. Philippians 13:14.
Don't be a reason why your generation will be out of season for God. Do something with that which have been handed over to you. For your reward is great in heaven.
