THE SWORD, THE CONCLUSION

Ephesians 6:17

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God

Through our view on the sword of the Spirit, we saw that the sword of the Spirit is simply the spoken Word of God, declared or spoken in the offensive to cast out devils, and handle negative circumstances. We saw that if you must weld this armour effectively, then you must have the Word of God dwell richly in you. (You must be aware of the Word so much), because you can't speak what you don't know.

It's also important to note that you don't go about casting devils out of yourself as a Christian, because there are no devils inside you. The devil may bring carnal thoughts to your mind from outside, to manipulate you into doing wrong, but he's not inside you. Therefore you must renew your mind with the Word of God continually, and put away carnal thoughts by being filled with the Word. That's how to get rid of such manipulations, not by casting out devils that are not inside you.

Next you mustn't forget that when using the sword of the Spirit, you don't pray ignorantly, rather you speak the Word of God directly to the devil or to the circumstance in the name of Jesus. Some persons spend time asking God to come and deliver them from Satan or to come and calm the storm in their lives. This is wrong because you've been given authority and you must use it. Speak directly to them, commanding them in the name of Jesus and they will obey! Hold tight these truths as you'd need them in the course of life. Remain on the Word and remain in prayers. You're blessed. -TCF
