THROW AWAY FEAR
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 NKJV
In 2 Timothy 1:6-7, Apostle Paul mentions four things that are necessary to make your gifts and grace effective. The first one is staying free from the spirit of fear. He says for God has not given us the spirit of fear. There are many believers who are ineffective in their work and ministry because of fear.
This is because fear is an inhibitor, and it stops one from taking the necessary step, due to doubt or worry of the risk and uncertainty. Fear is not of God. The antidote for fear is faith. Faith is the response to the Word of God which you have believed. Just as fear is a spirit, faith is also a spirit, and it is of the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 4:13).
Many times, when the disciples of Jesus functioned in fear, the Lord identified that it was because they were of little faith. (Matthew 14:31, Mark 4:40). This means that the way to abolish fear is to build your faith strong. Our theme verse shows us the foundation. Faith comes through what you hear, if what you hear is the Word of God.
Basically we are talking about the information you feed yourself with. Cut off from all things that inspire doubt, fear and sensuality, and stick only to the Word of God. Meditate on the Word and confess the word regularly. Make this a habit, and your faith will be built up in no much time. Glory to God.
Affirmation: I have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the spirit of love, of power and a sound mind. By the Word of God, I build my faith strong through meditation and confession in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
