LIVING IN HIS NAME
And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. Colossians 3:17 NKJV
Have you ever considered living in the name of the Lord Jesus? That's the life we've been called to live; To live in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. But what does it really mean, to live in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Our theme verse puts it this way, "whatever you do, in Word or deed (both your speech and actions) do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him". Does this mean you should literally call the name of Jesus before you do everything? Not exactly. It's good to call the name of the Lord,
but that's not what it means to live in His name. To live in His name first talks about your acknowledgment of His place in your life. Thankful acknowledgement. Your consciousness that you are God's man in all you do, and in every place you go.
You must see yourself as a representative of the Father and the Son here on earth. You must acknowledge that you're neither living for yourself nor by yourself. Your life is for Christ, and your backing is the power of God. This conscious acknowledgment of His place in your life, will influence all you do, in your actions, your conversations and your lifestyle. Glory to God.
Prayer: Father I thank you, for selecting me to be a carrier of your glory, for making me one who bears your name, and for marking me with the Holy Spirit as a seal. Now I don't live for myself. I live for you, everyday and in everyplace. I live for your purpose, and by your power, in Jesus name. Amen
