Love, Light & Life

... more than a devotional

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians‬ ‭13:14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Do you know, that it's possible to come to the place of prayer, speaking in tongues, and your mind is largely distracted, thinking about many other things? It's possible to come to place of study, and just read through the scriptures, without actually having fellowship with the Word of God which you are reading.

You see, the essence of spiritual things is in the fellowship you share with God in those moments through those activities, and not actually about the activity itself. Consider this example; if you tell a child to wash the plates on the sink, your aim is for the plates to be clean.

If the child washes the plates, but they're not clean, you'll want him to wash them again, because the true essence of the instruction was not for the washing of the plates, but in the cleaness which the washing should produce. The essence of spiritual activities is not the activity itself, but in the effect it should have on you and through you.

Therefore, ensure that there's communion, fellowship, a communication with you and the Father, beyond the sound of on lips, or the number of the chapters flipped through in the Bible. Let the true essence be achieved. Don't just do activity. Ensure you're being filled.

Prayer: Dear Father, I thank you for your love for me, and for your desire to commune with me. Indeed I'm special. I love you Lord, and I choose to focus on you and the essence of your present presence, even beyond the activities in Jesus name. Amen.
