A CHEERFUL LIFESTYLE
Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
Philippians 2:14-15 NKJV
Did you know that cheerfulness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit, and is a very important factor in our daily living? The NIV version of our theme verse says "Do everything without grumbling or arguing," (Philippians 2:14 NIV). Why? Because those are not our nature, who is Christ.
We are to shine as lights in a world full of crookedness and perverseness. There's an attitude with which we must approach life, in order to be able to shine. You cannot possibly reveal Christ to your world, unless you're full of His love, and joy in you.
Being full of His love and joy, will help you live separate from and above the wickedness and chaos in the world. When you live like this, then you can stream out from your heart, the Lord's goodness and blessings for your world.
You cannot be full of God's love and joy, yet remain angry, grumbling with an unhappy attitude. The mistake many people make is to consider themselves as victims of their circumstances. Don't do that. Cheer up and be cheerful. You have a hope that will never fail. You have overcome the world!
Affirmation: In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I'm full of God's love, peace and joy. I'm full of a hope that cannot fail. I have overcome the world and all who are of it! I am cheerful for this cause. I am ever victorious. Glory to God!
