CHANGES ON YOUR INSIDE
as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
I Peter 2:2 NKJV
The growth which the word of God causes to happen in you are the fruit of the vine, which are borne in you, as you abide in the vine and He abides in you. Many times, the fruit don't start as visible things, but they will always lead to very visible and undeniable changes.
The fruit which the Word of God causes you to produce, often start with little changes on the inside of you. These changes then build to become bigger and more visible to the people on the outside. Very often, these changes start with your desires, your motives and your drive.
... And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires... (Galatians 5:17 NLT). Observe that the Spirit of God actually transforms our desires. What did Jesus say? It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. (John 6:63 NKJV).
As the Word dwells in you, He transforms your desires, and gives you the ability to carry out the new desires of the Spirit in you (Philippians 2:13). In Hebrews 4:12, He's described as the discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart, because He causes the change in you, to start from the very core of your being. Glory to God.
Affirmation: Glory to God, the Word of God abides in me. He causes my desires, my intentions and my motives to align with that of the Spirit. I am a fruit bearing branch of the vine, in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
